Hide and Seek

Over the weekend, Connor and Sean's Uncle Matt came to visit for Connor's 3rd birthday. Uncle Matt is always up for playing whatever Connor wants to play. Yesterday the game was Hide and Seek. At first, I thought Connor had really made a conceptual breakthrough and understood the game. He was counting to ten, covering his eyes, and then searching for Uncle Matt. He really seemed to get it. Then, it was his turn to hide. That's when I realized "breakthrough" was the wrong word. Connor would "hide" in mostly plain sight. Then in an effort help Connor have more fun, the rest of the family would steer Matt in the wrong direction. When Connor hid in the family room we said, "Look in the living room, Uncle Matt." Then, from under a nearby blanket, Connor said, "Look in the family room, Uncle Matt." Ok, so he gets the seeking, but not the hiding.

Connor on his big boy bed. Sean eating his fingers as he leans on the quilt and pillow his Grammy made for him. These are my treasures, for which this blog is named.
