May Happenings
Ryan holds Brendan on the morning that Brendan turned 1 month old! Ryan loves being a big brother and LOVES Brendan!
Ryan got a ride in a huge red park swing at his cousin's 2nd birthday party last weekend!
Connor and Sean look at the camera in church before Connor's First Communion. All dressed up and looking so handsome!
Ryan and his cousin Nolan play a duet at the party after church!
Immediately following Connor's First Communion Mass, Brendan was Baptized! Two sacraments in one day= One Party!

Jog A Thon!
Ryan gives Sean a llittle good luck hug before the start of Sean's 20 minute run. This morning was Sean's first jog-a-thon!

Running with his best buddies!

Connor and his best buddy enjoy their popscicle after their run.

Connor ran his heart out and did 24 laps during his 30 minutes. He was very excited this morning!

Ryan was the littlest cheerleader for his big brother!! He is taking a nice nap now, after completing all his support duty!

Pre-Christmas Activity!
Sean's First Year as a Shepherd in the Nativity Play! For the past two years, Sean has been a camel, a role reserved for the very young. This year as a 5 year-old he is finally eligible for the role of Shepherd! Here he is trying on his costume for the first time!

Here is a flashback photo of Connor just before his first time being a shepherd. He is also going to be a Shepherd this year. I will post a picture of the two boys in their costumes this year after Christmas.

Last night after his shower, Ryan brought Grampy a book to read him. Here they are enjoying What Makes a Rainbow

First Days...
Showing their soccer numbers after their first game this season.

Sean is on "The Darth Vaders" (can you tell the kids choose the team name)? This is his first season being old enough to play! He is very excited, but wishes he could have weekly soccer practice like his big brother. He will have to wait for that. His age level also has no goalie and they play five 5 minute "quarters."

Connor is on the "Mighty Monsters". This is his second year playing and he is having fun! This photo was taken after the game, so he looks a bit serious, but it is just fatigue.

Here is little Ryan posing for his picture on the first day of his "school." He and I attend a weekly parent/child class near our house. We love it and I also love the nap he takes after his two and a half hour class!

Sean Finishes Preschool
Sean sits with his wonderful preschool teacher Ms. Kathy and one of his good friends on the last day of school.

Sean with his best buddy. They have been best buddies for two years of school.

September 2010--Sean on the first day of preschool.

Another one from last Fall on the first day of school.

It is weird to think of Sean going to the same school as Connor next year. Sean will be in Junior Kindergarten, so he still has one more year before he goes to regular kindergarten. Wish I could slow time a bit so we could enjoy each stage a bit more!

Little Sean is Growing Up!
Sean is 4 and 1/2 and 44.2 inches tall! He loves being Ryan's big brother and Connor's little brother! He always refers to Connor and his best brother and wants to do everything the exact same way Connor does. Sean is also enjoying learning all his letters. He is beginning to read environmental print (VONS, CVS) as well as "at" words like cat, sat, hat, etc. He is very pleased and eager to learn more!
Here is Sean in the hurricane simulator at the science museum. Sean did not like it when the winds got past 30 mph!

Flight simulator.

Posing on Sesame Street.

Hand washing exhibit.

Sean loves his baby brother!

Bye-bye bathtub...
In further efforts to keep our Motma safe upon her return, we will be converting our shower/tub combo to a barrier-free "universal" shower. (Hint: "universal" is code for "handicapped"). Here are the last pictures of Sean in his beloved bathtub. (We might put a tub in our bathroom once the initial improvements have settled down).

It definitely makes me sad to be removing our only bathtub because our little Sean LOVES his bath! He is already struggling with worry about Motma, now we are taking away his relaxing bathtime.

Notable Sean Quotations 2011...
Yesterday while walking to school, Sean said, "My fingernails did not get enough sleep last night." I asked, "How can you tell?"
Sean replied, "Because they're itchy."
Last night at dinner after we said grace, Sean said, "I am not impressed with God for creating germs!" Chris and I both said, "Neither are we." I think God might have gotten a good laugh at that one, I know we did.
