Science Festival

At the end of April our dear friends visited to participate in the Santa Monica Mtns Science Festival. Here are some shots of the amazing day.
Listening to a nature story read by an NPS Ranger with Chloe, Ray, Connor and Sean.

Hi, Connor.

Sean Rides the Train with Daddy and Grammy

These pictures are not in order, but here are Connor and Sean wearing the "Little Red Hen" character mask/hats that Connor made in Kindergarten.

Sean and Grammy at the fish hatchery--this is where the train stopped on Sean's field trip.

Jog-a-thon/Beach Day

Here is Connor right after he completed his 11 laps around the school track...

Family Picture after the Jog-a-thon. Both boys got to have popscicles--Yum!

Chris took the whole day off after the Jog-a-thon, so we decided to take the boys to the beach in Malibu after school. They were so happy to be running on the beach! It has been such a rainy winter, we have not gotten to the beach as often as usual.

Some Things We've Been Doing Lately...

Here are some slightly out of order photos of the past few months:
Chris took Connor and Sean to Mount Boney for a "hike" sometime in February during one of our warm spells. Here they are standing on a "BIG ROCK."

We went to our Ventura Gem and Mineral Show in March. Here the boys are touching one of the awesome dino exhibits.

Sean was happy to cheer for his big brother at Connor's first Jog-a-thon. It was a beautiful March morning-- great day for a jog!

On Valentine's Day I was officially half way through my third pregnancy! Here I am showing my baby belly... I'll have to take some more, a lot has changed in the past 8 weeks!

Here is Connor on the morning of his first school Jog-a-thon. The children all got to have an official T-shirt to wear during their jog. Connor jogged 11 laps in 20 minutes! Way to go, Connor!

Sean likes to play t-ball in our backyard, especially when he is wearing his Fireman Rain Boots and SF Giants hat!

Snow Tubing

The day after Christmas we did pull the boys away from their toys to go up to the snow. A mountain about two hours away has turned one area into a family snow tubing park--so much fun! All four of us rode down the small slope. Chris took Connor on his lap and I took Sean on mine. The main drawback was waiting in line between rides. We got to go three times in about one hour. The boys got to try their hand at snowball making and throwing, but the mittens took a little getting used to. We brought our "Snowman Kits" that Grammy and Grampy sent us, but the boys were too freezing and worn out to build a snowman. They both said, "Maybe next time we can build a snowman."

In typical Connor fashion... reclining in the dirty snow while we waited in line to get our inner tubes.

Super model pose on the snow as Sean begins his ascent.

Almost our turn!

The boys got in the tubes as we waited in line so Chris and I could pull them a few feet--very novel for them!

The Knights of the Backyard

Thankfully our castle doesn't come under attack very often!

This last one was taken outside Connor's classroom this morning before the school Halloween parade.

Here were today's Halloween costumes. Connor will be a knight tomorrow for sure, but Sean always keeps us guessing.

Golf Driving Range

We took the boys to hit a bucket of golf balls the other morning. Connor was reluctant at first, but said, "It was great!" by the end. Sean loved every minute of it!

Sean holding the empty bucket!

Fall Swimming Lessons

The boys have been in some evening swimming lessons this fall... burrrrr!

Beach Day

We had a heat wave recently, so we went a little ways north to a nice overcast beach to cool off!
