Excellent Advice

Just now, as Chris was leaving for work, Sean kissed him and said, "Bye, Dad, watch out for the volcano."

More From The World According to Connor and Sean...

Yesterday...
Motma: Connor, today is the first day of fall. You can tell your teachers.
Connor: No, Motma. Fall started nine years ago!

Yesterday, after hearing Chris cough...
Sean: Daddy had a "bless you" on his nose.

Yesterday during a play date...
Mommy: Sean, did you hit Tyler?
Sean: No, SMACK!
(Semantics are important to this two year old).

Look For Us Monday

Yesterday I went to the taping of Ellen's show with Ella and Owen's Mommy and Tyler and Chloe's Mommy. It was for this Monday's show, so look for us on the aisle in the front two rows. I am in a pink sweater, Susan's in Red, and Sandy and Chris are in gray. Ellen danced near us at the beginning, so we might be on. It was quite a mini workout sitting, smiling, standing, clapping! Fun, fun, fun! No camera's were allowed, so you'll just have to look for proof on Monday's show.

Trains Without Pains

This week Daddy glued the track to the train table. We had been debating whether to do it for awhile, and after injuries to people and walls, we went for it. We have all this beautiful Brio track and some wonderful trains, but the track was so often used as an instrument of torture, that we kept having to put it all away up high. At toystores they have such a good time playing at the train tables because the track doesn't move or fall apart so Chris got a piece of wood, cut it to fit the table frame, and voila...

Sean's Preschool

Sean loved playing with this garbage truck in his class last week. He had wanted to play with it the previous week, but it was always taken. He also loves pouring and scooping in the sensory table full of split peas, but I didn't get any pictures of that this week.

Fall Evening in the Sandbox

I mostly took these pictures to show the boys my approval of how cooperatively they were playing in an actual play area. Lately I have had trouble keeping them out of the mud and preventing them from destroying flowers one petal at a time. They forget how much fun the sandbox is until they actually get into it...

Brothers in the Bath

Lately Connor has decided it is fun to "wash" Sean's hair in the bath. Sean appears to enjoy being pampered in this way, and sits quite still for it.

First Day of PreK for Connor

Well here are some morning and afternoon photos of the big school boy and one of the little brother who didn't want to be left out of the photo shoot...

At home, looking forward to his first morning at school.

Looking very much like a PreK boy.

Sean wants a piece of the action. His first day of Mommy and Me preschool was last Wednesday. We go one morning a week. Today was his first day of "My Gym"- a mommy and me tumbling class.

A little nervous, about to walk into his classroom for the first time.

An elated boy who had a fabulous time at school! He made a balloon crown for himself and a necklace for me! He also wrote his name twice and played with familiar and new friends! I couldn't be happier for him!

The Night Before PreK

Last night was Connor's first school night; the end of summer vacation. Here are the two brothers reading ...

Did I say PreK? This one looks more like college.

This last photo shows their personalities so well...

Sugar High Birthday Bath

All Blue Frosting washed away! I think Connor is licking a last remnant of frosting out from under a fingernail. FYI Sean pooped blue frosting the whole day after.

Dreaming of a Blue Birthday

On Sean's actual birthday, two weeks ago, Motma got some blue and yellow Elmo cupcakes for an after dinner treat. Of course, the boys chose BLUE! The results are as follows...

Notice that is has gone from light to dark outside and Sean is still going. He was not bothered by the fact that Connor had abandoned his cupcake long ago. He was enjoying his blue frosting, and he worked on it long into the night. Eventually his love of bathtime lured him away.
