Sean is 9 months

Sean in 9 months, so I figured it is time for an update. He is charming, delightful and happy during the day. He loves to pull himself to standing and then let go for a while. He also loves to eat and eat and eat. He is wearing 12 to 18 month clothes today, but I don't know if they'll fit tomorrow. He signs: more, all done, flower, dog, eat, daddy, hat, and moon. He says, "Hi, daah" to Chris when he comes home from work every night. He loves to repeat what we say in his own rhythmic gibberish. He has had his two bottom teeth for a little over 2 months now, but recently he seems to be teething (and sleeping less soundly at night as a result). He adores Connor yet seems appropriately puzzled by his random, silly, and somewhat unpredictable behavior. Sean LOVES the bath now and crawls with great determination when he hears the bath water begin to flow ( so much so that we tend to put him down as far from the bathroom as possible just to watch him high tail it to the side of the tub).
Today, Motma brought out the ball popper! Great fun was had by all...

Standing is Sean's life right now. Most of his waking hours, when he isn't eating, he spends standing, looking for something to crawl to so he can pull himself up to stand, or sitting down from standing.

"Ahh, this looks like a dangerous enough thing to pull myself up on!" It is bolted to the wall, actually, but those heavy bins of trains are not...hmm maybe I should move those?

Jelly Belly Factory

On Friday morning, Sean, Connor, Motma, and I met Auntie Jackie and little Lulu at the Jelly Belly Factory. Here are the 2 moms, Julianne and Jackie.

Lulu gravitated to this red race car every chance she got. Could this be an indication of what's to come on her 16th bday?

Everyone had to wear paper hats on the tour...except for babies.

Sean, Connor, and Lulu before the tour.

Jackie and Lulu--It was great to see you!

Here is What We've Been Doing...

We just returned from 9 days in Northern California. The morning we left home, this family of ducks was also on the go!

Of course we made a few stops in my mom's favorite hangout to visit with friends. Here is our good friend Denis with Connor. THey made a figure out of stir sticks and apple slices. Very creative indeed!

Connor and Denis really enjoyed seeing one another!

Motma and the Boys

Motma has officially lived with us for 9 months! Time flies when you're having fun. Here she is with Sean . She has settled in here quite well as we knew she would. The local Starbucks crew knows her by name and drink. She goes to the church's senior luncheons, and helps me a ton. I think she is a big reason that Sean has so many "tricks" like pat a cake, peek a boo, so big, and a few baby signs. While I am working around the house or helping Connor, she plays with Sean and teaches him all these cute baby things.

Connor has also made some huge strides lately with Motma's encouragement. He now dresses and undresses himself and uses the potty when he needs to. He is very tender with her and "helps" her whenever he can. He helps her out of bed in the morning and helps her take her jacket off. It is very cute to watch them together. Today they even shot baskets together in the backyard.
