The Carousel at CA adventure has all beautifully painted, bejeweled sea animals to ride. Lovely! Connor chose a seahorse for both rides. Sean had a whale that he insisted was a SHARK, then a colorful fish.

California Adventure

Yesterday we used our "Free" ticket to Disney California Adventure Park. It was all of our first time there, and once we got oriented it was pretty fun. It is modeled after CA landmarks, and it was entertaining. Here are the boys in line for the Disney Playhouse Live stage show. They loved it! They are each holding the map they chose: Sean's is in Spanish, Connor's is in Chinese. Future Linguists? Who knows, but they did not want English.

Last Day of "Mommy 'n' Me Preschool"

Every Wednesday since late August 2008, Sean and I attended a parenting/pre-school class for 2-year olds. He had a great year and we both made some good friends. This past Wednesday, Sean had his last day in Ms. Georgette's classroom. We go on a field trip next week, but this was his last day on campus. So last Wednesday was his final chance to play in his classroom. He was very busy and I think he played with every toy in the room and did every outdoor activity, too. He sang every word to the songs, and seemed to be relishing his morning. He did pause for a moment to let me take his picture...



In the fall he will be on the same campus, in a different classroom, for 2 days a week. I will only attend 1 out of every 3 classes next school year.

Disneyland 2009!

On Thursday we took the boys to Disneyland for the first time. We had a great time. Motma came to watch from a wheelchair, but she did get to ride "It's a Small World" with us. We also got fast tracked to the front of some lines because of her wheelchair. Connor was great, he read the map and knew exactly where he wanted to go and in which order. Nemo Submarine was first...Small World was last.

Here we are in the longest line of the day waiting for Autopia...the other lines were not so bad. (5 min. for Pirates of the Carribean).

We Are Back!

After months of not being able to upload photos, I have a new card reader and am back to blogging! I just took these pics moments ago...

Here is Connor in all the glory of his 5 and 1/4 years. He is nearing the end of preK and looking forward to starting Kindergarten in the Fall. In our recent hot weather, Connor has really enjoyed "Popsicles" because the sticks have jokes on them. His repertoire of jokes has greatly improved since the heat wave began. He has some great buddies in school and the play dates for the summer are in the works. He loves to ride his Big Wheels, play cards (especially "War" with daddy), and dig for dinosaur bones in his "Archeology Class". He is becoming more and more self-reliant and confident...still shy like I was when I was little.


Here is Sean, now 2 and 3/4 years and full of "knowledge" that he wishes to impart to almost anyone who will listen. He is still interested in garbage trucks, though his interests are broadening to other "restruction" trucks like loaders and excavators. He also continues to love all sports that involve a ball, even golf. Most of the sports Sean plays are sort of "hybrid" versions of more well-known sports. For example he might hit a tennis ball on the ground with a baseball bat and call it golf. He also loves to tell "jokes"...I am sure anyone reading this knows the quality nature of jokes told by this age group. Good times!
