Weekend at Mammoth

Three weeks ago we went to Mammoth Mountain for some fun in the snow. Sean really got to practice saying "cold," "snow," and "ski"! He was intrigued by the white stuff and cried whenever he came into contact with it (because he refused to keep his gloves on his tiny hands). Hence, he is in only one picture in the Inn. Connor had a morning lesson and snow play with the wonderful instructors at the Canyon Lodge while Daddy skiied and I chased the miserable Sean. (Yes, that made me a bit miserable, too)! That night there was a blizzard and along with the winds came about 18 more inches of snow. The first 37 miles of roads were closed all day due to zero visibility, so we had to stay another night. Instead of a long car ride home, we bought a sled built for two and played in the snow. Even Sean rode in the sled for about 15 minutes (with his gloves on)! No pictures of that, though, as I couldn't manage the camera with gloves on, and it was way too cold and windy to take them off!
Here is Connor right before his ski lesson. He had a great time and an awesome sleep that night!

First time on the sled. They started from the entrance to the parking garage at the inn.

More sledding...Notice the snow was piled about 15 to 20 feet high and it is still snowing. It snowed all day that day!

Trudging through the deep snow to find more sledding bliss...I think Connor's boot is completely under the snow! They ended up making a snow angel before sledding down the slope.

The one and only picture of Sean. I was so grateful we had interior corridors for Sean to run out all his energy! Notice the little snow boot he is wearing.

What a fun time you all had. Connor looked like he took in all the new cold, wet experiences with ease. In looking at Connor trying to navigate the deep snow, I remember the wet snow in my boot as a child. Looks like alot of cool memories were made.
